June Marketing Tips

It's a summer round-up!

In between weekends at the lake and crowing about my clients, I love to see what my fellow marketers are doing and saying online. Call it professional development–it’s just a lot of fun! No matter the season, it’s important to remember these tips to keep your audience engaged.

Now it’s time to share some of these insights with you. So sit back, grab your favorite summer beverage and check it out!

Why join the thousands of other brands that use social media? The bottom line: it’s a cost-effective, authentic way to connect with your audience. There’s a world of opportunity waiting for you.

People who follow brands are more likely to purchase from that brand. Your product or service stays top-of-mind. Now that’s a tip I love to follow!

Give the people what they love. You know what makes your brand so special. Use social media to say it! Promote a sale, give a tutorial on your most-loved product, or give a shout-out to a customer who is giving you props.

Be consistent with your presence and thoughtful with your content! I can’t say enough how important content strategy is for marketing. It affects both internal and external communications. It impacts every interaction with your customers.

Don’t leave sales on the table because your messaging is insufficient. Need help? Take a tip from the Chief Roo and hire a professional! A marketing professional can work with you one-on-one to create a plan or partner with you long-term.

Owners of small businesses work hard to achieve their goals. In small organizations, one person often fills many roles, from sales to operations to customer service. Hiring an outside specialist is a great way to keep marketing off your desk while achieving success!

Video content is on the rise, and it’s set to increase dramatically in popularity over the next few years. When your audience comes looking for video, be ready! Don’t let them leave wishing you had something more. Deliver messaging that’s engaging and on-brand.

Video content is compatible across devices. It can boost your website’s SEO (or even go viral!). Incorporate video into your strategy today, and see the benefits for years to come!

Did you know?😎 Video traffic will be 82% of consumer Internet traffic by 2020. In three years time. 🙌 Yes, you need videos to promote your product or services. As technology advances, video 🎬🎥📹is becoming more a need for the business. It’s much preferable❤ than static content like a blog post – all words and a couple of images.👀👀 As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. So how much is a minute of video worth exactly?👋👋 Research from Forrester📑📚 says this: by taking the statement “a picture is worth one thousand words” multiplied by 30 frames per second. We now have 30,000 words. Multiple that 30,000 words by 60 seconds and you get 1.8 million words😷😅. If we take that literally… Moving images, colour and sound 🎼overlay reflects dynamics, interaction and a story that could easily be misinterpreted through just flat text or one image. 📖Through a video, the message is delivered even more strongly💪💪 together with trust and authority. That’s precisely why when doing business, people are moving towards using video conferences🎥 where you can see the body language of a person vs just a phone call📞☎ where it leaves a larger room for misinterpretation. According to @hubspot, 4x as many consumers would prefer to watch 📱a video about a product than to read about it. And stats from @socialmediatoday showed, people gaze👀👀 5x longer at videos than static content. All this information simply points to how critical💣💣 having a videomarketing strategy is to any business in the future. If you haven’t began👣👣 including videos as part of your overall marketing efforts, there’s still time⌚ to plan for it. If you have any questions or thoughts, pop them down below. 👇👇 Don’t forget to tag your friend in business to remind them to get cracking on video content planning!👏👏👏

It can be easy to get caught up in the reach of social media. After all, there are now 2 billion people on Facebook. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, considering how many social media platforms are out there. Incredible!

But trying to be everything for everyone won’t get you very far when it comes to marketing strategy. You need a plan to get you where you want to go. A marketing professional can help you create that road map.
